Refined Living in Layers: Rutland Park

Set within a character-rich family home, this refurnishing project reimagines the main living spaces through the lens of balance, restraint, and intentional curation. Rather than altering the architecture, the focus was on transforming how the home feels through custom furnishings and considered, story-driven pieces.

At the heart of the design is a handmade textile sourced through Obakki in Vancouver, created by a female artisan in Mexico. This piece became a grounding element within the space bringing warmth, texture, and a deeper sense of connection to craft and origin. Complemented by oversized custom furnishings tailored to the scale of the home, the result is a space that feels both elevated and deeply livable.

The DWK Difference

  • Thoughtful curation over excess
  • Custom scale tailored to real living
  • Artisan craftsmanship woven into everyday spaces
  • A balance of comfort, restraint, and warmth
  • A home shaped by intention, not trend
  • Spaces that feel collected, not decorated

The Moodboard

“We came to DWK Interiors with a very specific vision, and she was able to bring it to life in a way that exceeded our expectations. From the beginning, she listened carefully to how we wanted our space to feel and function, and thoughtfully blended the practical realities of our daily lives into a design that feels seamless and natural.”
